$13 million in royalties distributed to copyright owners

$13 million in royalties distributed to copyright owners

As Gilles Herman, our outgoing Chair, put it: Copibec “weathered a few storms” this past year.

For example, during the turbulence of the pandemic and the new reality of hybrid work, we welcomed Christian Laforce as Executive Director.

We also initiated some major projects, including the rollout of a strategic plan for the next three years and an update to our Savia user platform.

For 25 years, Copibec has been counting for you!

We’re proud to have stayed on track and fulfilled our mission, analyzing nearly 142,000 user log entries the most in our 25-year history and paying out more than $13 million in royalties (licence fees) to copyright owners during fiscal 2021-2022.

Another highlight was the launch of DONA, our platform providing accessible digital content for individuals with perceptual disabilities.
