Bibliographic references

In accordance with the Copyright Act, the author has the right to have his or her name associated with his or her work, which means that his or her name must appear on reproduced excerpts. Bibliographic references must appear on all copies shared, archived or available on a digital medium.

A complete bibliographic reference consists of the following:

  • Author’s name
  • Title of the work
  • Publisher’s name
  • Publication place and year
  • Page numbers reproduced

These elements make it possible to precisely identify the work and respect the author’s moral rights.
