  •  Publication years: 2021, 2022 and 2023

  •  Promotional material (posters, invitations, calendars, etc.)
  •  Titles of your works
  •  Article titles (only the name of the periodical in which the article appears will be considered)
  •  Publications outside Quebec

Children’s books and comics

  •  Children’s books and comics for which you hold the copyright are not eligible for this payment if they are already registered in our repertoire and your name appears in it. In fact, these titles are already taken into account for reproduction royalties and the lump-sum payment to book authors, making them ineligible for the visual arts payment. You can find these publications in the My Publications section of your account.

Self-published works

  •  Self-published titles are not eligible for this payment if they are already listed in our repertoire. In fact, these titles are already taken into account for reproduction royalties and the lump-sum payment to book authors, making them ineligible for the visual arts payment. You can find these publications in the My Publications section of your account.

How do I register my publications?

Open the Register for a visual arts package section.

Follow the steps below:

  •  Check whether the document you wish to list is already in our directory by entering keywords
  •  If the document is not in our directory, enter the publication title and publisher manually (mandatory)
  •  The ISBN (for books) or ISSN (for periodicals) number is optional, but speeds up our checks considerably
  •  For each publication entered, indicate the number of works reproduced for each year eligible for payment (for periodicals, it’s possible to enter several years for the same publication)
  •  Save the information, then check whether your registered publications appear in the list (click on the visual arts section)

Don’t have an account?

  •  Create an account
  •  In the question I am, select Author
  •  Your Social Insurance Number (SIN) is required to receive payment

Check that you own the rights to your works

Make sure you own the rights to your works. Publications in either of the following situations are not eligible for this payment:

  •  The rights to works you have created in the course of your employment (for example, as a photographer for a newspaper) belong to your employer, not to you
  • Works for which you have contractually assigned your reproduction rights no longer belong to you

Does the payment have to be issued in the name of a legal entity?

  •  Only personal companies are allowed
  •  Eligible publications must still be registered in your personal account as indicated
