November

It looks like November is gracing us with its new, unpredictable temperature records for this taciturn time of year. And so much the better, as it allows us to appreciate the good times at Copibec.

A month after the聽2024 IFRRO World Congress聽and international symposium, we recently issued聽a press release announcing an agreement with La Sofia for the payment of French public lending rights for Quebec authors. Excellent news!

Many of you have been listening to our podcast series, Copyright Law: A Century of Stories. Indeed, to date, there have been almost 30,000 listens on all platforms. It鈥檚 a great success for Copibec鈥檚 first foray into the podcast market. And as of today, the series is available on QUB. More news to come in 2025.

I鈥檓 also very proud to announce a new partnership with 脡ducaloi, a reference with whom we鈥檒l be working to demystify some of the basics of copyright law. Stay tuned!

On November 11, Copibec convened its partner organizations to take part in a table on AI and copyright. It鈥檚 crucial to reiterate the importance of protecting works in this new context of unauthorized use with AI. If you have any questions on this subject, please don鈥檛 hesitate to contact us at info@copibec.ca.

Make the most of the book fair season to fill up on new discoveries!
